Happy Mother’s Day

I want to say to all the moms out who may be reading this – have a wonderful day.  Being a mom isn’t always easy, it’s messy, sometimes lonely if you’re home with them all day, and it’s a great challenge to be the one who must think of new things to do, to find the perfect book to read, to repair something that’s been broken several times, and to always have the perfect answer to difficult questions.  But, of course, it’s the best thing in the world when you laugh together and when you have a good day, especially if there hasn’t been too much frustration or more than the average time-outs.  Being a mom is pretty great overall.  Especially if they walk in carrying this for you:

This is now the happiest spot in my house.  The tuberoses smell like perfume.

Later, when it was time for bed, the girls wanted to sleep together and so they did.  This is what they looked like right after they fell asleep:

(note the comfy quilt…) Awwwww.  And here they are about an hour later:

(camera strap inclded because I was laughing and trying not to make noise)  They’re like puppies who just fall asleep on top of each other.  I change my mind…this is for sure the happiest spot in the house.

So, I want to salute all you moms out there who are raising your kids.  Hug them a little tighter today and contemplate your good fortune.

Thanks for that funny picture! I had a good little chuckle. Libetry asked what I was laughing at, so I showed her, and she said “Silly girls!”

I’m such a bad mom…I was about to yell at Roan for waking me up, forgetting that it was Mother’s Day and the sweet boy was giving me a card.

That’s fantastic! I love how kids can fall asleep in any position, anywhere.
